NATCHEZ — Services for Margaret Gerard Smith Wesley, 97, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Magnolia House, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. C. J. Meadors and the Rev. Samuel A. Tomlinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Wesley was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Natchez, the daughter of David Lawson Smith and Ethel Brandon Smith.

She was past president of the Natchez Garden Club, past regent of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

She was also a member of the Natchez Opera Festival, Progressive Study Club, Historic Natchez Foundation and Friends of the Library.

Mrs. Wesley was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Theodore Wesley Sr.; her parents; one brother, David Gerard Brandon Smith; and one sister, Mary Jane Smith Hornsby.

Survivors include one son, Marion Theodore Wesley Jr. and wife, Kathryn, of Central, S.C.; two daughters, Anna Virginia Wesley Saterstrom and husband, Roger, of Nashville, Tenn., and Lucy Jane Wesley Dixon, of Gulfport; seven grandsons, David Lynn Wesley and Patrick Theodore Wesley, of Houston, Joshua Jackson Smitherman and wife, Amy, of Clemson, S.C., Noah Andrew Saterstrom and wife, Julia, of Tucson, Ariz., Wesley Hamilton Duffee-Braun and wife, Eryn, of Nashville, William Brandon Duffee-Braun and Christopher Reilly Dixon, of Atlanta; one granddaughter, Jessica Saterstrom Eichman and husband, Brandt, of Nashville; three great-grandsons, Charles Frederick Eichman, James Thomas Eichman and Theodore James Duffee-Braun; one great-granddaughter, Vivian Charlotte Saterstrom; and one sister, Helen David Smith Rayne, of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be David Wesley, Patrick Wesley, Noah Saterstrom, Wesley Duffee-Braun, Joshua Smitherman, William Duffee-Braun, Christopher Dixon and Brandt Eichman.
