EVA — Services for Jimmy Ray Trant, 72, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eva Church of God in Eva with the Rev. Joey Pepmiller and the Rev. Gordon Finlay officiating.
Burial will follow in Forman Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Trant was born April 18, 1941, the son of, Dathan Rayford and Marjorie Hamm Trant.
Mr. Trant loved kids, especially his grandchildren and loved to coach baseball and enjoyed riding motorcycles and 18 wheelers.
He will surely be missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Trant was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Forman Trant; one brother, Larry Dale Trant, one nephew, Steve Hensley; and one niece, Mona Hensley.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Ray Trant Jr. and wife, Jodee, of Monterey; one daughter, Misty Trant Little and husband, James, of Monterey; grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, Dathan, Hobie and Candace; two sisters, Claudia Smith and Marjorie Wood, both of Bossier City; and a number of nephews, nieces and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jared Mophett, Ed Hill, Kris Forman, Red Tiffee, Jeff Britt and Eric Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Book, 4 Rivers Freedom Riders “CMA” and Class of 1959 Ferriday, La.
