NATCHEZ — Services for Louis Martin Spencer Jr., 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Crown Health and Rehab, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Walton Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Spencer was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Natchez, the son of Louis Martin Spencer Sr. and Frances Jean Smith Spencer.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be dearly missed.

He was the former owner of Spencer Bros. Construction and member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

He enjoyed reading, storytelling and was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Raymond Michael Spencer, one sister, Margaret Spencer Wilson, and one niece, Gina Wilson Green.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Spencer; two daughters, Kate Spencer Jabbia and husband, Vince, of Beaumont, Texas, and Beth Spencer Cummings and husband, Bob, of Oxford; three grandsons, Vincent Jabbia, of Beaumont, Will Spencer, of Zaragoza, Spain, and Benjamin Cummings, of Oxford; two granddaughters, Bridget Mueller, of San Marcos , Texas and Kathleen Jabbia, of Beaumont; one sister-in-law, Leneen Dickey Blansett and husband, Richard, of Dallas; one nephew, Richard Lee Moroney III, of Huntsville, Ala.; and five nieces, Sheree Wilson Bryant, of Natchez, Amy Wilson Sanders, of Baton Rouge, Jennie Moroney, of Houston, Patrice Moroney Garcia, of Cypress, Texas and Cris Moroney Hughes, of Oxford.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Spencer, Woody Allen, Jimmy Koerber, Vince Jabbia, Bob Cummings and Will Spencer.
