Trinity falls to Franklin Academy

COLUMBUS — The Trinity Episcopal Day School Saints couldn’t get the bats hot against Franklin Academy Friday night as they were defeated 8-1 on the road.
Stewart Mallory picked up the loss, giving up seven hits and two strikeouts.
No player on either team recorded a double, triple or multiple hits, but it was Franklin Academy’s Michael Moroni who made the difference in the game.
Moroni pitched all seven innings with nine strikeouts and allowed only one hit.
The loss brings Trinity to a 3-6 overall record, 3-3 in district. The Saints will play at Centreville Academy at 6 p.m. Monday.
