Mary Serio Spieler

NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Mary Serio Spieler, 90, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spieler was born Sept. 13, 1923 in Natchez, the daughter of Sam L. Serio and Mary Trudell Serio.
She was the drum major for the Natchez High School band and a member of the “Fighting Forties” class.
Mrs. Spieler and her husband lived for many years in Stoughton, Wisc., and Miami before returning to Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Spieler.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie “Bambi” Spieler Harrison and husband, Lewis, and Mary Ann Spieler Glunz and husband, Mark; one son, Charles Lawrence “Larry” Spieler; five grandchildren, Sarah Spieler, Julie Grotluschen, Jennifer Schababerle, Marybeth Peck and Kevin Harrison; and six great-grandchildren.
The family members would like to express their thanks to the professional staff at Natchez Regional Medical Center, Adams County Nursing Home and Hospice Compassus for their kindness and loving care of mom.
