NATCHEZ — A Natchez man has been indicted for a DUI-driving wreck that killed a 91-year-old man last April.
Cameron Collier, 35, 118 Magnolia Acres Road, was booked into the Adams County jail on an indictment for DUI leading to the death or mutilation of another Friday. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
An Adams County grand jury returned the indictment for Collier’s alleged involvement in the wreck that killed John H. Buckles, 91, on April 13, 2013.
At the time of the wreck, Mississippi Highway Patrol Spokesman Sgt. Rusty Boyd said Buckles’ vehicle was struck from behind by the pickup Collier was reportedly driving, sending Buckles’ truck off the road and turning it upside down before it came to a stop off the westbound lane of U.S. 84 near the Adams County Correctional Center.
Buckles was airlifted from the scene, but died before he could receive medical treatment.
A passenger in Collier’s vehicle also received minor injuries, and was treated locally before being released.
