MEADVILLE — Services for Robert “Lanis” Wilkinson, 79, of Meadville, who died Friday, April 17, 2014, at his residence, were at 11 a.m.  at Pilgrim’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church Saturday, April 19, 2014, with the Rev. Mickey Myers and the Rev. Jerry Wilkinson officiating.

A graveside service followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilkinson was born on August 8, 1934, in Franklin County, the son of Marcus Claude and Julia Cothren Wilkinson.

He served in the US Army. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Alice Wilkinson;  and sister, Bernice Smith.

Survivors include his sons, TonyWilkinson and wife, Teresa, of Elm Grove, La., Terry Wilkinson and wife, Rachelle, of Preston; daughters, Susie Sanders and husband, Scotty,and  Robbi Steele, all of Meadville; sisters, Wilda Smith and Claudell Coleman; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends .
