NATCHEZ — Services for Peggy Sue Whitten Murray, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Harrigill and the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Murray was born June 22, 1930, in West Helena, Ark., the daughter of Elijah Bibb Whitten and Josephine Everett Whitten
Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, J.S. “Skinner” Murray; her parents; one son, Herbert William “Bubba” Murray; and one son-in-law, James C. “Jimmy” Lambert.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores M. Lambert and Paula M. Rouse and husband, Greg, all of Natchez; seven grandchildren, Herbert Murray and fiancée April Knapp, Stephanie Gauthie and husband, Nathan, Tammy Breithaupt and husband, Brandon, all of Natchez, Amanda Peoples and fiancée, Lee Watts, of Denham Springs, La., John Murray, Carey Kaiser and husband, Andrew and William Rouse, all of Natchez; nine great-grandchildren, Gary Gray Jr., Casey Floyd Jr. and wife, Desiree, Sari Thorpe and husband, Jamie, Tate Breithaupt, Drake Breithaupt, Tucker Breithaupt, David Peoples, Madison Peoples and Paxton Kaiser; six great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Jo Betty Wassom of Hot Springs, Ark.; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Casey Floyd, Lee Peltier, David Peoples, Edward Lee Murray, Mike Terry and Jim Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stan McCurley, Hoss Serio, Dr. Ed Daley, L.C. Murray, Mike Breazeale and Bill Broom.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Natchez Adams County Humane Society or the Relay for Life.
