VIDALIA — Services for Archie Smith Sr., 63, of Dillon, S.C., formerly of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Christopher Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Smith was born June 14, 1952, in Vidalia, the son of Andrew and Sarah Smith.

He was employed by Wix in Dillon.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mattie Smith; one brother, Larry Smith; and one sister, Beatrice Marshall.

Survivors include two sons, Kendrick Arrington and Archie Smith Jr.; two brothers, Andrew Smith Jr. and the Rev. Sam Baker; and two sisters, Sarah Jones and Willie Mae Basley.

Pallbearers will be Terrance Smith, Brian Parker, Brandon George, James Poole Jr., Brandon Parker and Randal Starland.
