NATCHEZ — Services for Rodney Lee Hargrave, 57, of Detroit, formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, April 11, 2014, in Detroit, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church The Vision Center with the Rev. Walter Sago officiating.
Burial will follow in Mercy Seat Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Natchez and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Hargrave was born May 27, 1957, in Natchez, the son of Leo Jr. and Josephine Hargrave Blanton.
He loved to travel. He retired from General Motors Company in Detroit and was a former worker at International Paper Company.
Mr. Hargrave was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, James and Birdie Lee Hargrave; and paternal grandparents, Leo Sr. and Emma Blanton.
Survivors include his wife, Teri M. Hargrave; mother; one son, Rodney DeShawn Hargrave; one daughter, RaVonda King; four grandchildren, Chandrell Gibson, Chazmyne Gibson, Chardasia Gibson and CDarrius Norman; one brother, Lee Blanton and wife, Sybil; three sisters, Barbara Stewart, Priscilla Brown and Amesha Green and husband, Charles; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Edmond Weathersby; three sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Weathersby, Robin Weathersby and Andrea Lepley; three lifelong friends, Charles Kendricks, Tony Stamps and Garcelias Dickens; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
