ROXIE — Funeral services for Betty Jean Woods, 78, of Roxie, who died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Spring Baptist Church in Tomnolen with the Rev. Van Windom and the Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating.
Graveside services and burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 3, 1936, in Choctaw County, the daughter of Thomas and Joyce Allen McCulloch. She was a member of the Roxie Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress that worked for many years in the garment industry. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joyce Allen McCulloch; husband, L.D. Woods; son, Leroy Woods, and brother, Truman McCulloch.
Survivors include her daughters, Sheila Woods of Jackson, and Rhonda Woods Mallory of Roxie; brother, James McCulloch and wife Billie Sue of Eupora; grandchildren, Monya Young, Charlie Woods, Jade Mallory and Lillian Woods; great grandchild, Michaela Brown; special niece, Marlene Cummins; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
