Mary Kathryn Carpenter / The Natchez Democrat — Nearly a dozen volunteers from Jefferson County showed up Friday morning to begin the process of honoring each deceased soldier in the Natchez National Cemetery with a miniature American flag. Hundreds of miniature flags will be placed at the headstones of deceased soldiers this weekend at the Natchez National Cemetery by volunteers in honor of Memorial Day.
