NATCHEZ — Services for Lou Case Murphy, 90, of Fayette, who died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Natchez First Assembly of God with the Rev. Bill Murphy officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Murphy was born March 2, 1924, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Willie and Mamie Smith.
She was a devoted wife for 62 years to her late husband, Burke. Mamie loved the Lord passionately. In her earlier years, she enjoyed directing children’s youth and adult choirs at her church. While she taught English at Mississippi State University for many years, her greatest joy was teaching the word of God to women around the state and abroad.
Survivors include two sons, Bucky Murphy and wife, Alice, of Canton, and Bill Murphy and wife, Debbie, of Starkville; one daughter and devoted caregiver, Dee Bullen and husband, Leon, of Fayette; 12 grandchildren, Camp Murphy and wife, Sydney, of Flowood, Bo Murphy and wife, Emily, of Lawton, Okla., Dees Britt and husband, Jody, of Starkville, Andrew Murphy and wife, Jennifer, of Southaven, Phillip Murphy of Starkville, Meredith Horn and husband, Vic, of Alpine, Texas, Emily Redwood and husband, Jack, of Starkville, Mary Beth Murphy of Houston, Mary Elizabeth Naugle and husband, Nate, of Powell, Tenn., Terry Bullen and wife, Angie, of Jessup, Md., Hannah Williams and husband, Michael, of Tupelo, and Joseph Bullen and wife, Kayla, of Natchez; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Murphy, Phillip Murphy, Camp Murphy, Bo Murphy, Terry Murphy, Joseph Bullen, Nate Naugle, Michael Williams, Jack Redwood, Vic Horn and Jody Britt.
