NATCHEZ — Memorial services for James Delta Cupit, 58, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Church of Natchez with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.

Services will be under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Cupit was born Oct. 24, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Tim L. Cupit Sr. and Dorothy Jean Butler Cupit.

He was an avid 18th century re-enactor. He had parts in several movies including “Huckleberry Finn,” “North and South” and several documentaries.

Mr. Cupit was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Martha Jane Cupit.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Russell Cupit; one son, Shawn Michael Cupit and wife, Amy E. Coley, of Natchez; one stepson, Hal Rusk and wife, Lauren, of Tupelo; one granddaughter, Vega Kellilyn Cupit of Natchez; one step granddaughter, Sophie Grace Rusk of Tupelo; two brothers, Tim L. Cupit Jr. of Brandon and Eddie Reams Cupit and wife, Julie, of Grenada; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude’s.
