Stephen and Lisa Merritt of Sheridan, Ark., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebekah Merritt to John Coleman, son of Glynn and Cindy Coleman of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Homeschoolers of Arkansas in Sheridan and is a graduate of College of Ouachitas in Malvern, Ark.

She is employed by Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark.

She is the granddaughter of Margaret Hayes and the late John D. Hayes of Pine Bluff, Ark., and the late James and Edith Merritt of Whitehall, Ark.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Natchez High School and is attending University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He is employed by University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He is the grandson of Jessie Coleman and the late Freddie Rose Coleman of Liberty and the late Rufus and Lillian P. Lazarus of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at First Apostolic Church of Sheridan.

A reception will follow.
