VIDALIA — The summer tennis camps sponsored by the LaMiss Community Tennis Association has been cancelled because of insufficient participation.
The camp was to be hosted at the Concordia Recreational District 3 complex in Vidalia Tuesday through the end of July, but association president and league coordinator Nancy McLemore said the camp couldn’t generate the number of children needed to get professional tennis player Tina Montagnet to teach.
Montagnet has worked for BREC in Baton Rouge for more than 10 years.
“(Montagnet) is doing a private lessons in Natchez instead of the Vidalia camp,” McLemore said. “We won’t have a makeup camp in July, but we will have a large group lesson the week before school starts in August.”
McLemore said the camp was for children ages 6-10 years old with lessons broken up by age groups.
