JONESVILLE — Services for Joe Windel Williams, 74, of Harrisonburg, who died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. James King officiating.

Burial will follow in Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral in Jonesville.

Mr. Williams was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Winnsboro, the son of G. C. Williams and Addie Williams Routon.

He was a resident of Harrisonburg, worked in construction and was a welder by trade. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Georgia Faye Conner and Joy Noel Collier.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Lois Townsend; one son, Grover Lyn Williams of Houston; two daughters, Donna Marie Skains and husband, James, of Kingwood, Texas, and Carol Williams Lightle and husband, Christopher, of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren, Brittany Skains, Mallory Skains, James Skains, Jamie Lightle, and Jacob Lightle; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Brewer and Aiden Ligtle; two brothers, Roger Williams and wife, Georgia, of Rosefield, and Wayne Williams and wife, Patty, of Harrisonburg; and two sisters, Dianne Gore Gill and husband, Buddy, and Patsy Foerster, all of Columbia.

Pallbearers will be Justin Eubanks, Bobby Clifton Jr., James Skains, Jacob Lightle, Cleve Williams and Charlie Powell.
