Vidalia — Parents with children in certain grades at Concordia Parish schools are asked to bring a proof of residency to the schools before the first day.
Superintendent Paul Nelson said any parent whose children are entering third, sixth or ninth grade must bring two documents to their children’s schools that prove their residency within that attendance zone.
The documents can be anything from a water bill to a driver’s license.
“It just needs to tie them back to that residence, so we know that’s the correct address they registered with,” Nelson said. “Parents are asked to do this in May when they get report cards, but we’re running behind schedule so they need to bring them as soon as possible.”
Nelson said verification needs to be completed by Aug. 8 ahead of the first day of school, which is Aug. 11.
