NATCHEZ A few concealed personal hygiene items and electronics landed an Adams County Sheriff’s Office employee behind bars Sunday.

Jodi M. Bramlett, 24, 1101 Eastwood Road, was arrested and charged Sunday evening with shoplifting after Walmart employees uncovered her concealing several items in her purse, Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said.

Bramlett told NPD jailers she was a corrections officer with the sheriff’s office when she was being booked into jail. Her Facebook account, which is under the name Jodi Davis, lists she began working as a correctional officer at the ACSO on July 16.

Ford said Walmart’s asset protection department handles shoplifting arrests and reports internally, and NPD simply transports the suspects to be booked in at the jail.

Ford said the police report on Bramlett’s arrest didn’t include specific details on the items she allegedly shoplifted or details on their value.

Bramlett was released on a $726 bond Sunday night.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield did not immediately return phone messages Monday left seeking comment.
