NATCHEZ — Services for Arthur Emile “Bubba” Chauvin Jr., 88, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walton Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Chauvin was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Ferriday, the son of Arthur Emile Chauvin Sr. and Blanche Alwood Chauvin.

Mr. Chauvin was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was a 1953 graduate of Northwestern State University.

Mr. Chauvin was a member of Kiwanis, Natchez Santa Claus Committee and Belwood County Club. He also served as president of Miller Farms, Inc., and vice president of Miller Farms Hunting Club.

Mr. Chauvin had a love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and dancing with his lovely wife, Betty Lou.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ruth Evelyn Chauvin Saxton, Helen Yvonne Chauvin Warden and Blanche Chauvin Griffin.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Lou Miller Chauvin; one daughter, Lou Ann Chauvin Jordan and husband, Chandler, of Ferriday; one son, Arthur Emile “Buddy” Chauvin III and wife, Debbie, of Ferriday; two brothers, Charles Hudson Chauvin and wife, Dorothy, and Lawrence John “Larry” Chauvin and wife, Edith, all of Vidalia; two sisters, Betty Ann Chauvin Roden of Bridge City, Texas and Emily Chauvin Massey of Magee; six grandchildren, Clayton Ross Chauvin, Chelsea Lee Chauvin, Austin Blake Chauvin, Ashlyn Ruth Jordan, Miller Chandler Jordan and Sarah Grace Jordan.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Hogue, Lawrence Chauvin, Stan Burkley, Lou Burkley, Austin Chauvin and Charles Falkenheiner.

Memorials may be made to Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, Pleasant Acre Day School or to a charity of choice.
