VIDALIA — Services for Dorothy Netherland Chandler, 86, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Vidalia Church of Christ with the Rev. Don Tate officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Chandler was born April 16, 1928, in Gilbert, La., the daughter of James Williams and Lillie Elizabeth Netherland.
She was a homemaker and an active member of the Church of Christ.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Knocker” Chandler and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Faye Button and husband, Paul, of Ferriday and Darlene Temple and husband, Roy, of Bryan, Texas; one son, Barney Carl Chandler and wife, Shirley, of Ferriday; one sister, Earlene Moore of Wisner, La.; two special sisters-in-law, Frances Netherland and Fay Dell Gallender of Vidalia; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Trey Coats, Payton Moore, Ashton Moore, Carl Chandler, Travis Morace, Bart Morace, Chad Morace and Roy Temple Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Chandler, Gregoiré Anthonelli, Mathew Morace, Joshua Morace and Lee Richardson.
