WOODVILLE — The Louisville High School Wildcats didn’t dominate Wilkinson County High School in the first half like most people at Friday night’s game probably expected — at least not on the scoreboard.
Louisville, the defending MHSAA Class 3A state champion, was up 24-13 at halftime, but the visiting Wildcats took control with two fourth-quarter touchdowns as they defeated the host Wildcats 40-19.
Even though Wilkinson County managed just one touchdown in the third quarter, it remained in the game at the end of the quarter, down just 26-19. But the host Wildcats couldn’t keep pace with Louisville when it mattered most.
Wilkinson County (0-2) plays host to Amite County High School at 7 p.m. next Friday.
