Patricia and Willie Washington of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Chiquita K. Washington to William O.A. Johnson Jr., son of Vivian Shelley and William Johnson Sr. of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Alcorn State School of Nursing in Natchez.

She is employed by Natchez Regional Medical Center in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Edna and the late Walter Strauder of Natchez and the late Pearlina and Willie Washington of Crosby.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Natchez High School.

He is employed by Ingram Barge Company of Paducah, Ky.

He is the grandson of Rosie L. Lenoir and the late William O. Corley of Natchez and the late Abe and Oranell Shelly of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Zion Chapel No. 2 in Natchez.

A reception will follow at Kingston Community Center.
