CLAYTON — Memorial services for William H. Thompson, 61, a tankerman in the barge industry, of Clayton, who died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at his residence in Clayton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Ferriday, the son of Raymond and Jean Bowman Thompson.

He was an avid sportsman. He played football for Sicily Island during his high school years in the 1970s. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Hilda Spring.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Thompson; one sister, Phyllis Zeigler of Clayton; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
