Enjoy a lovely Saturday afternoon, wearing your favorite hat and gloves (optional) and celebrate with Edna B. and Joyce Fay Washington Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. and Natchez Regional Medical Center for the fifth annual Hats and Gloves With Tea On The Mississippi from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Grand Hotel.

Our guest presenter, Sally-Ann Roberts, co-anchors the highest rated morning news program in Louisiana — WWL-TV, where she has worked since 1977. She has reported thousands of stories over the years, but she most enjoys reporting good news. In 1994, Roberts co-founded with Cathy Harris the mentorship organization, Each One Save One. Over the years, the non-profit organization has recruited, trained and placed hundreds of mentors in schools and organizations across the metro area. Roberts donated her bone marrow to her sister, Robin Roberts, co-anchor on Good Morning America, following her breast cancer diagnosis.

Sally-Ann is the author of three books, “Going Live…An Anchorwoman Reports Good News,” the novel “Angelvision” and the inspirational “Your Power Is On” with the photography done by her co-anchor Eric Paulsen. Roberts will be available to autograph your purchases during teatime.

I founded Washington Breast Cancer Foundation 21 years ago. I serve as chief executive officer and president of the board. Services continue to be provided in New Orleans, most especially a breast cancer support group, Sisters In Touch. Services have been provided in the Miss-Lou for the past 5 years.

“Journey To Save A Life” is a program available to medically underserved women in the Miss-Lou who are in need of an annual mammogram. This program is provided in a cooperative effort with Natchez Regional Medical Center. We are excited to share that 51 women have received mammograms since the inception of the program three years ago and three of those women needed sonograms, which were provided

For a donation of only $25, you will also enjoy the vocal genius of Erica Danielle Davis. The top three winners of the most beautiful hat and gloves will be recognized. There will also be a special presentation to all breast cancer survivors. A tantalizing silent auction, as well as, “Pink Light Specials” will be available. All of the proceeds realized from the tea will remain in the Miss-Lou as the Foundation continues to actualize its mission: To promote healing through culturally sensitive programs that address the psychological, emotional, spiritual and educational needs of medically underserved women.

Come and enjoy tea with Sally-Ann at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Grand Hotel.
