NATCHEZ — Services for Alberta “Berta” Perkins, 90, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Perkins was born July 8, 1924, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Martin and Bessie Smith. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Ms. Perkins was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leroy Perkins; one daughter, Mildred Love; four sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, James Perkins and wife, Esther Ruth, Charles Perkins and wife, Susan, and T.C. Love; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Sewell and Ethel Lee Woods; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jene Walker, James Jones, Jonnie Jones, Major Washington, Kelvin Harris and Lewong Hughes.
