NATCHEZ — A mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Sally Seale Logan, 82, of Alexandria, La., who died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until mass time at the church.
Mrs. Logan a graduate of St. Joseph’s in Jackson and was accepted to the Juilliard School of Performing Arts in New York. As a young teen, she began playing the organ at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Jackson. After moving to Natchez, she continued as an organist for more than 40 years at St. Mary Cathedral. She moved to be close to family in Alexandria more than 10 years ago, where she served as organist for St. Francis Cabrini Church in her final years.
Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Logan; her parents, Frank and Lula Henley Seale; birth mother, Ruth Sampite; and one brother, Joe Sampite.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Aubrey Edward Logan; three daughters, Maryetta Logan Mansour and husband, Dr. Alfred Mansour Jr., Sally Logan Carpenter and husband, Albert “Chip” Carpenter Jr., Patricia Logan Hilton and husband, Dr. David Hilton; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Alfred Mansour III and wife, Danielle, Aubrey Mansour and wife, Janine, Dr. Ashton Mansour and wife, Georgia, Margaret Mansour, Kyle Carpenter, Logan Carpenter Senior and husband, Robert, Morgan Hilton, Hayley Hilton, Logan David Hilton and Heath Hilton; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other family members and friends.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, Cabrini Hospital, Dr. Edwin Irby and Dr. Roberto Garcia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the music program of St. Mary Basilica, 107 S. Union St., Natchez, MS 39120.
