HARRISONBURG, La. — Services for Betty Arlene Hawthorne, 87, of Harrisonburg, La., who died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Jason Paul officiating.
Burial will follow at the Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Hawthorne was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Mechanicsburg, Pa., the daughter of John Elmer Fisher and Anna Ritter Fisher.
She was a member of Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Hawthorne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Hawthorne; three sisters, Dorothy Etrow, Ruth Lauer and Helen Beach; three brothers, Jake Fisher, Clyde Fisher and Ronald Fisher; one daughter, Brenda Garrard; and one son, Kenny Hawthorne.
Survivors include two daughters, Jimmy Snyder and wife, Joyce, of Pennsylvania and Bobby Workman and wife, Lynn, of Jonesville; two daughters, Betty Boothe and husband, Hilton, of Jonesville and Patti Mizell of Sicily Island; three brothers, John Elmer Fisher Jr. and wife, Betty, and Robert Fisher and wife, Sandra, all of Pennsylvania, and Richard E. Fisher of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
