LAKE ST. JOHN — Memorial services for Betty Grace Person Loomis, 82, of Lake St. John, will be at 1 p.m. today at Lake St. John Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber and the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.100714 BettyGPLoomis obitpic

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Loomis was born May 7, 1932, in Lake St. John, the daughter of William Ernest Person Sr. and Bessie Fogleman Person.

She was a member of Lake St. John Community Baptist Church.

Betty Grace loved spending time with her family. She loved to travel, read westerns, daily devotionals and the Bible. She was known as “Maw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Loomis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Kermit “Bill” Loomis Jr.; one son, William Kermit “Duke” Loomis III; one brother, W.E. Person Jr.; and one grandson, Michael Boykin.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Tiffee and husband, Scott, of Monterey, Cindy Boykin of Lake St. John and Kelly Billeaud and husband, Lee, of Carencro, La.; one brother, Richard Person and wife, Marilyn, of Baton Rouge; one sister, Norma Jean Price of Lake St. John; two grandsons, Aaron Tiffee and Brandon Billeaud; four granddaughters, Amber Passman, Lacy Boykin, Caroline Loomis and Taylor Loomis; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Delta Bank’s “Duke Loomis Memorial Fund.”
