NATCHEZ — Services for Wallace Fleming, 88, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. James Fallon, SSI, officiating.
A rosary and tribute will be at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Fleming was born July 12, 1926, in Adams County, the son of Floyd and Margaret Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd “Pop” Fleming Jr. and James “Ba Brother” Fleming; two sisters, Gussie Brengettsy and Helen Fleming; and one brother-in-law, Harry Walls Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Fleming; one brother, Otis Fleming of California; one sister, Margaret Walls of Natchez; five sons, Marshall Fleming and wife, Joyce, of Gretna, La., Lloyd Fleming, Floyd Fleming and wife, Wanda, all of Natchez, Glen Fleming of New Orleans and Wallace Fleming Jr. of Irmo, S.C.; one daughter, Angela Fleming-Chatman; one adopted daughter, Dorothy Scott and husband, Alton, of San Antonio, Texas; three stepdaughters, Alice Denise Brown and husband, Jonathan, of Zachary, La., Janice Freeman and Myra King and husband, Steven, all of Natchez; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
