FERRIDAY — Services for James William Nugent, 86, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, in Vidalia, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Larry Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Nugent was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Gilbert, La., the son of John Boatner Nugent and Fannie Ellard Nugent.

He was a retired carpenter with J.A. Russ with more than 30 years of service.

Mr. Nugent also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcille Nugent; one son, Donald Nugent; two daughters, Pamela Annette and Paula Jeanette Nugent; and one grandson, John Nugent.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Nugent and wife, Cathy, of Ferriday and Johnny Ray Nugent and wife, Robyn, of Natchez; two daughters, Rita Jacobs and Rebecca Wesberry, both of Vidalia; one grandson, Josh Wesberry; five granddaughters, Amy Wise, Courtney Case, Kristy Parker, Nicole Greene and Leah Nugent; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Justin Greene, Patrick Miller, Zack Nugent, Cory Miller, Josh Wesberry, Rawleigh Champion, Jamie Wise, Conner Greene and Ty Case.

Honorary pallbearers will be Landry Case, Austin Case, Chain Wilson and Nick Stevens Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
