FAYETTE — Memorial services for Wayne Lamar Bender, 65, of Fayette, who died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Mississippi Mortuary Services in Pearl.

Wayne was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Elkhart, Ind., the son of Richard Lamar Bender and Geraldine May Bender.

Wayne was mentally challenged, a special child. He loved the Lord and always talked about heaven where he now resides.

Mr. Bender was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Survivors include his one sister, Priscilla Massie and husband, Mark, of Fayette and a few aunts and cousins.
