NATCHEZ — Services for Ordley Ransom, 88, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at his residence, will be at noon Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.
Burial will follow at the St. Mary Baptist Church Memorial Garden under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Natchez and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Ransom was born April 9, 1926, in Adams County, the son of Howard and Rosie Ransom.
He was a member of the Day’s Hunting Club.
Mr. Ransom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Ransom; two sons, Audley Ransom and Wayne Ransom; two brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include five daughters, Jessie Graves of Maryland, Thelma Ford and husband, Larnell, Corine Reed and husband, Charlie, Aurine White and husband, Bodie, all of Natchez, and Lillian Page and husband, Jerry, of New Orleans; two sons, Claude Ransom of Natchez and Dave Ransom and wife, Rhonda, of Lawton, Okla.; one sister, Bessie Ransom; one brother, Clarence Ransom, both of Natchez; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Ransom of New Orleans; four sisters-in-law, Marie Ransom, Sylvia Washington, Katie Thomas and Helen Gooseberry, all of Natchez; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
