NATCHEZ — Services for Barbara Parker Enterkin, 75, a teacher of Concordia Parish for 35 years, who died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Allen Stevens and the Rev. Dan Ratcliff officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Enterkin was born June 5, 1939, in Sinton, Texas, the daughter of Cecil and Mary Carroll Parker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Natchez. She used her talents to serve her Lord. She used her creativity to sew a number of costumes and decorate a number of church production sets.
Mrs. Enterkin loved to cook for people and served a number of meals at her church. She gave unconditionally.
Barbara served with Partnership Evangelism in nine different countries — taking them handmade quilts, which was her favorite hobby, to each host family and pastor.
She used her summers to do home missions in four different states, conducting backyard Bible clubs and campground missions.
Barbara’s daughters laughed with her. She was their “Martha” and called to serve and used her talents to do so. She surely will be missed by all that knew her.
Mrs. Enterkin was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Warren S. Enterkin; two daughters, Debbie Carpenter and husband, Ronny, of Ferriday and Cheryl Whitaker and husband, Dick, of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Derek, Holden, Katie, Emily, Luke, Silas and Aiden; and two sisters, Peggy Parker and Pat Atkins, both of Chatham, La.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law, Luke Whitaker, Silas Whitaker, Dick Whitaker, Derek Braswell, Holden Braswell and Ronny Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aiden Whitaker and senior adult Sunday school class of First Baptist Church in Natchez.
