NATCHEZ — Two people have been charged with aiding the escape of a prisoner last weekend.
Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Breanna Stumps and Jamauri McNealey were arrested Wednesday evening and charged with aiding the escape of felons.
The arrests were connected to the Sunday escape of Dominique Williams, who ran from an Adams County jailer while the two were emptying trash outside the jail.
Williams was captured riding in a car Tuesday in Natchez.
Mayfield said Stumps allegedly picked Williams up after his escape, while McNealey had contact with Williams and attempted to arrange money for him.
Mayfield said the investigation is longing and more arrests could follow.
Williams was one of three prisoners who escaped local jails last weekend. All three have been captured.
Williams, 20, ran from a jailer Sunday while the two were emptying trash in a dumpster in the parking lot behind the jail. Williams was arrested earlier this year on charges of burglary and violating probation. Williams was made a kitchen trusty a month ago.
Law enforcement officials chased Williams throughout the downtown area, but only captured a second inmate, Jonquil Jackson, on Sunday.
