WOODVILLE — Senior night at Wilkinson County Christian Academy did not turn out so well for the Rams as they lost to the Christian Home Educators Fellowship (CHEF) Patriots 46-27 Friday night.

CHEF senior quarterback Arek Moslander had a lot to do with that. Moslander threw five touchdown passes and ran for another. Two of his touchdown passes went to Timothy Costa while two other TD passes went to Spencer Costa.

Moslander ended up completing 9 of 13 passes with no interceptions for 223 yards. His 6-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter after WCCA made it a 26-20 game gave CHEF a 12-point lead.

But the Rams would not go away quietly. Caleb Moore scored on a 32-yard run to cut the Patriots’ lead to 32-27 with 7:52 remaining. However, the Patriots ended the Rams’ comeback attempt with Moslander’s 31-yard touchdown pass to Timothy Costa with 5:04 left and Davis Pourciau’s 99-yard interception return for a touchdown with time running out was the exclamation mark.

While CHEF was effective both throwing and running the ball, WCCA primarily ran the ball to try to wear down the Patriots’ defense. The Rams had two 100-yard rushers with Rodney Boyd having 185 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries while Poole had 140 yards on 19 carries.

However, the Rams hurt themselves with three turnovers and 19 penalties for 160 yards.

WCCA finished the regular season with a 2-8 mark and awaits what team it will take on in the first round of the MAIS Class A Playoffs. The Rams finished second behind Trinity Episcopal in District 4-A.
