FAYETTE — After a stunning loss to Wesson High School, the Jefferson County High School Tigers were looking to start a new winning streak Friday night at home against Hazlehurst High School.
But the Indians had other ideas. Led by Michael Miller’s two first-half touchdown runs, Hazlehurst dominated Jefferson County en route to a 32-12 win over the Tigers in a key MHSAA Division 7-3A game for both teams.
The only time the Tigers scored was near the end of the first quarter on Rashard Brown’s 77-yard touchdown pass to James Herrington Jr. and with halftime approaching on Dykevis Ford’s 75-yard punt return for a touchdown.
