NATCHEZ — Services for Marie W. “Fannie” Ransom, 97, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Murray Temple Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Elijah Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Baptist Church Memorial Garden under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Ransom was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Adams County, the daughter of Samuel Washington and Eliza Gooseberry.

She was a faithful member of the mother board and the missionary board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ransom.

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn E. Ransom of New Orleans and Elizabeth M. Harris of Chicago; one granddaughter, Ria Rai Harris of Chicago; one great-grandson, Ahmad Hill of Chicago; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
