NATCHEZ — A celebration of life for Bobbie Lea Bird Kaiser, 80, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, was 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Spencer and Dr. Jason Bird officiating.
Burial followed at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kaiser was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Oma, the daughter of Eldred Ian Bird and Ida Belle Conn Bird.
When she first came to Natchez, she was employed by Bluff City Motors Company. She was later employed by Sears and Dr. Lehman. She retired from the Pilgrimage Garden Club after 19 years of service.
Mrs. Kaiser developed a number of lifelong friendships during her working career. She was very passionate about birds, flowers and nature.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kaiser; her parents; and two sisters, Sandra B. Bullock and Ruth Lambert.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Karl Kaiser and wife, Angie, of Hazlehurst; one daughter, Linda K. Riley of Denham Springs, La.; two grandsons, William F. Riley III and wife, Renae, and Benjamin L. Riley and wife, Rasheeda; two brothers, Grady E. Bird and wife, Betty, of Laurel and Paul N. Bird Sr. and wife, Margie, of Meridian; one sister, Margie Bird Douglas and husband, Marshall, of Sontag; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were William F. Riley III, Benjamin L. Riley, Ian Douglas, Dr. Jason Bird, Paul N. Bird Jr. and Greg Cupit.
Honorary pallbearers were Rick Chamberlain, Paul Dawes and Albert Malone.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Chuck Borum, Dr. Brad LeMay and the ICU nurses at Natchez Community Hospital.
