NATCHEZ — Services for Milton Ketchen “Bill” Cassels, 96, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Natchez, who died peacefully Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mitch Cockerham officiating.102914MiltonKCassels obitpic

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday a the church.

Mr. Cassels was born Dec. 10, 1917, in Gloster, the son of Delos H. Cassels and Ida Bryant Cassels.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and his wife, Annie Laurie, was his entire world. He loved spending time with family, gardening, playing dominoes, playing pool and gospel singing. He was handsome, humble and selfless. He will be forever missed.

Mr. Cassels was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; five sisters; and one son-in-law, William Bryant Davidson.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Laurie Cassels; two daughters, Charlotte Day and husband, Harold, and Leigh Brown and husband, Chris; one son, Scott Cassels and wife, Peggy; four granddaughters, Robin Day, Aaron Schranz and husband, Jason, Cori Wood and husband, K.C., and Cassels Brown; five grandsons, Trey Day and wife, JoAnne, Mike Day and wife, Norma, Patrick Day, Mark Davidson and wife, Reneé, and David Cassels and wife, Judy; 14 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, and Hunter Day, McKenzie and Michael Davidson, Hannah, John Noah, Tice, Milly Schranz, Ellie and Oliver Wood, Grace Ketchen and Rhys Cassels; and one great-great-granddaughter, Rylen Day.

Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Mark Davidson, David Cassels, Jason Schranz, K.C. Wood and Mike Day.
