VIDALIA — The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the community for help to give area children a Christmas present.
The CPSO is continuing its “Trikes and Bikes” program. Trusties from the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility repair used bicycles and get them in shape for distribution in time for Christmas.
Cash donations are needed to purchase chains, paint and other parts for the bike repairs. Those wishing to donate money for the bike repairs can send a check to Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bike Fund, 4001 Carter St., Room 7, Vidalia, LA 71373.
Members of the community who have a tricycle, bicycle or scooter they want to donate can bring it to the sheriff’s office at the Concordia Parish Courthouse in Vidalia. All items can be dropped off at the shop at the back of the courthouse.
Those interested in applying for a bicycle for their child up to and including age 16 can apply at the sheriff’s office from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Dec. 3 through 12. Bicycles will be issued Dec. 15 through 19.
