Charges upgraded for Natchez man from September wreck

FERRIDAY A Natchez man was arrested for vehicular homicide Thursday in connection to a September wreck that killed a Ferriday man and injured two juveniles.

Patrick K. Krueger, 34, of Natchez, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup when his vehicle crossed the centerline on Louisiana 568 and collided with a vehicle driven by William K. Loomis, 50, of Ferriday.

Loomis was later pronounced dead. The two juveniles in his vehicle were transported to Riverland Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.

Neither Loomis nor his passengers were wearing seat belts.

Krueger was suspected of driving while impaired and was originally charged with DWI, open container and careless operation. He was charged Thursday with vehicular homicide and vehicular negligent injuring (two counts).

State police responded to the scene, east of Louisiana 900, at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Krueger was traveling east on Louisiana 568 when he reportedly lost control. Loomis was traveling west.
