NATCHEZ — Services for Armand Hastings Pinkney, 70, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mr. Pinkney was born Aug. 18, 1944, in New York, N.Y., the son of Armand Bush Pinkney and Carrie Coles Pinkney.
He was a 1962 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and a 1971 graduate of Alcorn State University. He was also a member of the U.S. Air Force for 25 years and a loyal letter carrier for the U.S. postal service.
Mr. Pinkney was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Clara Mazique Pinkney; one daughter, Shauntee Pinkney; one brother, Henry Eugene Pinkney of Gathersburg, Md.; three grandchildren, Mikayla Johnson, Raenetta Robertson and James Merritt; and a number of other relatives and friends.
