Weekend ticket: Benefit concert headlines weekend events

NATCHEZ — A benefit concert, a 5k run and a play for the ages will take up a majority of the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the weekend, with lows in the high 40s.

Natchez-Adams County Humane Society’s Run for the Rescues

The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society will host its second annual Run for the Rescues at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The fee is $20 to run either the 10k or 5k route, or $15 to walk if participants pre-register.

All event fees will be $25 on Saturday if participants do not pre-register.

The race will start downtown at the corner of Madison and Canal Street at the site of the old pecan factory.

All participants will receive a T-shirt and goody bag. Prizes will be awarded following the race by age group.

Hometown Throwdown for Ellis Malone

A Hometown Throwdown for Ellis Laine Malone will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Vidalia Convention Center.

Malone has Apert Syndrome and has undergone four major surgeries, with many more to follow.

All proceeds will go on to support Malone’s future surgeries.

Live entertainment and food will be available at the event.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchase by contacting the Vidalia Convention Center.

Tickets will be $20 at the door Saturday.

Trinity Holiday Bazaar

The Trinity Merry Market Holiday Bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Convention Center. The marketplace will feature local and regional artists and retailers showcasing some holiday goods.

Admission is $5 and will serve as a fundraiser for Trinity.

This year Trinity will host a “Cookies with Santa” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for $5, a child can have their photo taken with Santa.

Natchez Little Theatre, “Fences”

The Natchez Little Theatre will present “Fences” at 7:30 p.m. tonight through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $15 for non-members of NLT.

Friday Forum

The Friday Forum will take place at the Natchez Coffee Company at 8 a.m. Friday and will discuss Christmas in Natchez. The public is welcome to attend.
