NATCHEZ — A man missing since Sunday night was found dead Wednesday in the woods near Natchez State Park.

Travis Todd, 35, had entered the wooded area Sunday in an apparent plan to spend the afternoon exploring. He’d made plans with his wife for later in the evening, and had left without his cell phone.

Adams County Emergency Management Director Robert Bradford said Todd’s body was found approximately 720 meters from the campground around noon.

A family friend said Tuesday Todd may have been in a confused state at the time of his disappearance because of an injury he had suffered from receiving a strong electrical shock in 2012.

Bradford said the matter is still under investigation and other details were unavailable.
