NATCHEZ — Services for Leroy Gibson, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today, with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Mr. Gibson was born April 3, 1932, in Washington, the son of Rufus Gibson and Annie Robinson.
He was self-employed and was a Catholic.
Mr. Gibson was retired.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Louise Gibson; two sisters, Mary G. Williams and Josephine Green; three brothers, Charles Gibson, Rufus Gibson and Eugene Ray.
Survivors include four sons, Ronnie Gibson and wife, Linda, of Vicksburg, Toney Gibson and wife, Thelma, of Mesquite, Texas, Patrick Gibson and wife, Linda, and Dwight Gibson, of Natchez; five daughters, JoLillian Jackson and husband, James, of Fayette, Lavon Gibson, Sa’Myria Gibson and Angela Hutchins and husband, Darnell, all of Natchez, and Audrey Holmes of Baton Rouge; one brother, James Gibson of Natchez; two sisters, Dorothy Campbell of Manchester, Mo., and Mamie Gibson of Port Gibson; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of relatives and friends.
