Three Natchez area football teams continue their quests toward the goal of becoming state champions.
Adams County Christian Schools plays neighbor Centreville Academy in the MAIS AA state championship game at 1 p.m. today at Mississippi College in Clinton.
In addition to seeking the state title, ACCS will be avenging the loss of its third game of the season, when Centreville bested them by a score of 56 to 44.
Having beaten French Camp Academy last week, Cathedral High School hosts Pelahatchie at 7 p.m. today in the second round of the MHSAA Class A playoffs.
Jonesville’s Block High School takes on Louisiana New Tech Lions at 7 p.m. today in its effort to progress in the LHSAA Class 1A playoffs.
Their months of hard work on and off the football field have brought them to this point in their season. The work these young men do on the football field brings such a thrill to scores of parents, siblings and friends. Win or lose, we are proud of their efforts and representation of our community.
In the words of legendary coach Vince Lombardi, “In great attempts, it is glorious even to fail.”
Best of luck to ACCS, Cathedral and Block high schools tonight in their attempts to bring home titles to our community.
