Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Black of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Black to Derek Winstead, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Winstead of Hattiesburg.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She is employed by Lowery A. Woodall Surgery Center in Hattiesburg as a nurse.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Black of Natchez and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bahan of New Orleans.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is employed by Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg as a physical therapist.

He is the grandson of Christine Truhett and the late Rufus Winstead of Philadelphia and Peggy Keyes and the late Robert Keys of Hattiesburg.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at The Venue at the Bakery Building in Hattiesburg.

A reception will follow at The Venue.
