FERRIDAY — Services for Joy King Mayes, 56, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon today at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday.

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Ms. Mayes was born May 24, 1958, in Vicksburg, the daughter of Charley and Ellen Ozan King.

She was employed by Walmart in Vidalia. She was also caregiver for Maudine Jacobs.

Ms. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one sister; and two uncles.

Survivors include one son, Anthony Mayes; two daughters, Jacqueline Johnson and husband, Keithrick, and Antwine Carter and husband, Reginald; two brothers, Willie King and wife, Connie, all of Ferriday and Phillip King and wife, Bobbie, of Covington, Ga.; one uncle, Percy Bernard and wife, Bertha, of Natchez; one grandchild, Andreonna Anderson; and one godchild, Shan’malik Hawkins, both of Ferriday.
