Put loyalties aside, cheer on local CHS

Our community is filled with great school families. That’s what schools become, really. We have public, private and parochial schools, but all of them have one thing in common — the people who attend them tend to be fiercely loyal.
Tomorrow morning is a time to put down all the loyalties and come together as one. As a group of young men jog onto the field, let this whole town be fans, even if just for a few hours.
Like we are when any of our area schools excel — academically or athletically — we’re thrilled by the Cathedral Green Wave’s appearance in Friday’s state championship football game.
Those young men, their coaches, parents and fans have done something countless others have only dreamed about doing. They set their sights on the goal of winning their way to the state championship and Friday, that dream will become a reality.
The last time the Green Wave made the state finals was in 1993. This week’s trip is long overdue.
Ahead of the game, we wish Coach Ron Rushing and his Green Wave team all the best of luck. Just know that for at least half of a day the entire Miss-Lou is a member of the Green Wave family.
Good luck and regardless of the outcome, we know you’ll make us proud.
